Womb yoga feels like a home-coming to your feminine body.

It’s a practice that focuses on nurturing and honoring the female reproductive system, including the womb (uterus), ovaries, and pelvis. Womb yoga combines yoga postures, breathwork, meditation, and visualization techniques designed to support women’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and to connect us to the essence of ourselves.

The practice of womb yoga is rooted in the belief that the womb is not only a physical organ but also a sacred space that holds immense creative and intuitive power. By connecting with and honoring the womb through womb yoga, we cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness, healing, and empowerment. To integrate this work, we work with the following key elements in ritual:

  1. Yoga Poses for the Pelvis and Hips: Womb yoga often includes gentle stretching and strengthening poses that target the pelvic area, hips, and lower back combined with jaw, throat, and tongue exercises. These poses help to release tension, improve circulation, and promote balance and flexibility in the pelvic region.
  2. Breathwork: Conscious breathing techniques, such as deep belly breathing or pelvic floor breathing, are an integral part of womb yoga. Breathing exercises help to calm the nervous system, increase awareness of the pelvic area, and cultivate a sense of relaxation and presence.
  3. Meditation and Visualization: Womb yoga often incorporates meditation and visualization practices that focus on connecting with the energy of the womb. These practices may involve visualizing the womb as a source of wisdom, creativity, and intuition, or sending healing energy to the reproductive organs.
  4. Honoring Menstrual Cycles and Feminine Rhythms: Womb yoga encourages women to become more embodied, tune into their menstrual cycles and honor their natural rhythms. This involves adjusting the practice according to the phases of the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and postpartum, as well as practicing self-care rituals that support menstrual health and well-being.
  5. Emotional and Energetic Healing: Through this practice, women awaken the Shakti energy (life force energy), release emotional blockages stored in the pelvic area, allow the body to self-soothe and move through any resentment, shame, anger or ancestral ties, cultivate self-love and acceptance, and tap into their innate feminine wisdom and power.
